Bear and Breakfast is a management adventure game where you take on the role of Hank, a big and friendly brown bear, and begin to renovate an abandoned building in the middle of the forest to turn it into a bed and breakfast.

• Collect Resources

  The resources you come across on the ground refresh and respawn, so you must gather as many of them as possible when you find them. Having a surplus of resources available will mean you will not have to search for them every time you need to make something new.

  Keep in mind that different locations will provide different resources. For example, Highlake will have plants for food and The A24 will enable you to get metal and rock. Make sure you visit all the locations on the map often and the easiest way to do that is by unlocking the Bus Stops, so you can fast travel.

• Utilize Bear Stash

  Take advantage of the Bear Stash bin near the Pawn Voyage truck to hold any extra items you may have. The Bear Stash bin can hold any item type, from resources and ingredients to decorations and crafted items. It helps make inventory management easier and the items can be accessed from any of the bins which means they stay the same and transfer over no matter the location of the bin.

• Find Resources with the Mini-Map

  Use the mini-map in Bear And Breakfast to help find the resources that are easily missed or difficult to see. Although all resources sparkle the mini-map is particularly useful when you are looking for items like metal at the dump in The A24 which is difficult to see because the metal scraps blend into the bigger trash piles.

  The easiest way to find things is to use the mini map at night where you will be able to see the location of the resources easily in the dark. Keep in mind that if you hover over the resource, you can see what type of items they are by looking at the key on the side that explains what each icon means.

• Use Your Journal

  Be sure to double-check your journal when you are stuck trying to find quest items or NPCs. If the quest you are trying to complete does not guide you the journal will essentially tell you exactly where to find the items you are looking for.

• Focus on the Story Quests

  Resist the temptation to take on the maintenance quests you get at signposts that offer you rewards in exchange for upgrading your properties and instead focus on the story. The reason for this is you will often get gated by items you need to unlock by progressing through the story.

• How to Fix Bathroom Door Bug

  There is a bug in the game that locks bathroom doors when there is no one in it. You can fix this two ways, you can either sleep through the night or delete the door in the inventory menu at the workbench and put a new one back up.

• Picking Up Wood Piles

  Focus on picking up wood piles that have three different colors of wood in them. If you do this Hank will get Plywood Planks, Pinewood Planks, and Mahogany Planks instead of just Plywood or just Plywood and Pinewood. Make sure you pick up the whole pile so that it respawns.

• Wait Until Level 5

  Resist spending a lot of time and resources building each stage of furniture for every bathroom and bedroom. Just put in the bare minimum until the level 5 stuff is unlocked. If you do this you will save a lot of money and resources down the line.
