Pokemon Emerald Walkthrough and Guide

End Notes

You obtained your National Dex immediately after leaving home following your victory as the Hoenn Pokemon League Champion.  If you followed the guide you should have a fairly large chunk of the Dex already completed.  Bear in mind that you cannot complete the Pokedex in Emerald alone -- you are going to need to find some mates to trade with who have Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen, and FireRed.

Most of the Legendary Pokemon that required you to attend special events are not required to complete the Dex, but obtaining them is still a good idea.  Remember that you do not have to have them in your game permanently in order to get the Dex entry, you only have to have had them -- which means you can have a mate trade one to you and then trade it directly back, which gives you the complete Dex entry without it costing them a rare Pokemon.  Most Trainers are willing to oblige you in this fashion more often then they are willing to flat out give you an uber rare or hard to obtain Pokemon.

The DS generations are WiFi compatible and have easy access to the Pokemon Global Trade Station (GTS) which makes obtaining some of the rarer Pokemon easier but you still have to get them into your  Dex first (you cannot request the trade of a Pokemon you do not have a Dex entry for in GTS).

I want to extend particular appreciation to the following people for their assistance in preparing this guide, and particularly for providing stat information, item and Pokemon information, and activity details that were either lacking in the game or difficult to come by:

GSGlenn
RUPufnStuf
Swash01
XenonW
Zoolandr

No Pokemon were actually harmed in the making of this guide.

Special thanks to Rich for his patience with this guide -- due to a series of disasters that included the loss of a RAID Array, the death of an Emerald Cartridge, and some personal issues this guide was delivered very very very late.  Thanks Rich!
