This is quite a challenging Map, even with high-level units so be prepared. This is a small map with heavy fog so torches will help a lot in navigating the area. You’ll be facing several giant wolves and demonic beasts here at once, as well as the very powerful Wandering Beast as the boss so equip Battalions with Gambits that deal AOE Damage if you want to gather more rare ore from breaking their shields. Due to the large number of demonic beasts, you’ll probably run out of gambits that you should be saving against the Wandering Beast. That said, you’ll eventually have to kill the beasts without breaking all their shields.

Marianne is a critical unit and she starts off right in front of the Wandering Beast. As soon as the battle starts, have her move right outside the Beast’s Attack Range. Don’t bother having her regroup with you since there are giant wolves hiding in the woods around the Beast, as well as Demonic Beasts along the main path. Just have her stay in her position for the majority of the battle until your army reaches her.

You must also tag the Wandering Beast to see its Attack Range. As long as you stay out of its attack Range for the majority of the battle, it will not move or hunt down your units. The giant wolves surrounding the Wandering Beast won’t move or attack you unless you get in their attack range. To make it easier, stay out of the woods surrounding the Wandering Beast, at least early in the battle. There’s also a ballista to the middle-north portion of the Map. However, getting there can be tricky with all the beasts along the way.

Guide Image

The easiest way to reach Marianne is to move your entire army westward. However, if you have fairly high-level units with great equipment, you can send 3-4 units to the northeast to deal with the demonic beasts there. There’s even a Demonic Beast a few spaces west of your starting position. Gang up on it and destroy its shields then press on.

Continue working your way until you reach the middle of the Map. There’s a phantom Soldier carrying a Hexlock Shield in the middle-west section of the map, near the heal tile. Defeat it to get the loot and you should be able to rescue Marianne for this location as well.

Further to the northwest are three demonic beasts. One of them drops a Giant Shell; it’s up to your army if they’re capable of taking on three demonic beasts at once. Continue unleashing coordinated attacks to take these demonic beasts out and make sure that your army is moving close together.

As the battle drags on, more giant wolves will arrive. At this point, your party should start moving towards the center of the Map to take on the Wandering Beast. Avoid trickling attacks; have your units wait and group up first before making a coordinated attack against the boss. Thankfully, the Beast only has four shields that you have to break.

Have Marianne talk to Byleth to get a free Support boost, then continue working on depleting the Beast’s multiple HP bars. To make it worthwhile, have Marianne face off the beast and land the finishing blow.
