The time you’ll spend in the monastery is limited. As such, you have to carefully consider what activities you’ll need to do to maximize Byleth’s and your student’s growth. You’ll only get weekends off. This is where you can choose how you can spend it. You can only choose one of the following actions. More options will be unlocked automatically as you complete missions and go through the story.
* Explore: Explore the monastery on foot. You can interact with the students, use various facilities in the monastery, and learn from other Instructors to improve your own Skills. The activities you can do will be limited by your Activity Points.
* Seminar: Assign a lecturer to hold a seminar that will increase all participating units’ skill experience and motivation.
* Battle: Select this mission to take on Mission, Auxiliary, Paralogue, or Quest battles. During days or weekends where a story mission takes place, this will be the only activity you can select.
* Rest: Rest during the weekend. This will increase your allies’ motivation.
From this screen, you can also access the Marketplace, complete Certifications (to unlock new classes for eligible characters), or skip the actions. The game will complete actions automatically.
Watch out for ongoing events for the month and particular weekends. In the example below, there’s a Tournament for lance users, with an Intermediate Seal as prize. You can also view the event details for that particular week by pressing the left or right D-PAD. Press A twice to display the details of the weekly events such as increased chances of catching better/more fishes, or extra affinity and motivation boost to characters you dine with in the dining hall if you select their favored dishes.
For the other days of the week, Mondays are dedicated to classroom sessions with the students of your chosen house. We will discuss how the classroom session works in a dedicated page in this guide.
Every Saturday, the summary of the week’s study sessions and Group Tasks will be displayed. You’ll be able to see how much your students have grown, including new Abilities, Combat Art, or spells they learned.
For the other days of the week, the days will progress automatically and will only be occasionally interrupted by character birthdays, Support conversations, etc. It’s recommended to participate in these optional events whenever you can since they’ll allow you to increase your bond with other characters without the need to Explore, spend Activity Points, etc.
Every month, new quests become available. There are quests exclusive to a particular month only. While most of the quests can be completed immediately, some may require completion over the course of several weeks, from accepting the quest and completing the task. You can complete most of these quests on the same day after accepting them since most of them are isolated within the monastery grounds anyway.
You can access your calendar while exploring or from the Battle Preparation screen by pressing X to launch the Menu.
