Pt. 7: Ultimate Motorsport

Thank you for printing this page from www.SuperCheats.com. Remember to come back to check for updates to this guide and much more content for Forza Motorsport 6

Last Updated:

Right, so... We have arrived at the final Volume and so the final three Series - the Ultimate Motorsport which is Volume 5.

For this Volume we get to pick from the following:

- Endurance Prototypes

- Indy Car

- Modern Grand Prix

- Can-Am

- 1970s Grand Prix

- Legends of Grand Prix

In keeping with the way we have been picking them all along for this WTG, we opted to go with the bottom right-hand selection, or Legends of Grand Prix! That choice made, we now get to choose from the following rides for this Series:

- 1966 McLaren M2B (1,217,150 Cr.)

- 1967 Brabham BT24 (1,201,300 Cr.)

- 1967 Eagle-Weslake T1G (1,212,950 Cr.)

- 1967 Honda RA300 (1,031,850 Cr.) DLC Car

- 1967 Lotus Type 49 (1,203,350 Cr.)

What you choose is down to what you like - but bear in mind that in terms of raw speed and power, the Lotus is on top. Whatever you choose you will be spending some serious coin for this ride! Once you choose your ride, you get to kick right into the Series'!

Ultimate Motorsport Volume

So getting this show on the road, we begin with the World Championship Tour, with 6 racing events.

World Championship Tour

Series 13 of 15 - 6 Races

Recommended Cars

Bear in mind that this is purely subjective and based upon a combination of our own and other racer experience. Clearly YMMV but the suggested cars below are competitive for this Series.

    - Endurance Prototypes

    - 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B

    - 2012 Audi #1 Audi Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro

    - Indy Car

    - 2015 Honda #27 Andretti Autosport IndyCar

    - 2015 Chevrolet #1 Team Penske IndyCar

    - Modern Grand Prix

    - 2015 Lotus E23

    - 2015 Lotus E23 (Seriously)

    - Can-Am

    - 1969 McLaren #4 McLaren Cars M8B

    - 1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163

    - 1970s Grand Prix

    - 1976 Ferrari #1 Scuderia Ferrari 312 T2

    - 1976 Lotus #5 Team Lotus 77

    - Legends of Grand Prix

    - 1967 Lotus Type 49

    - 1967 Brabham BT24

The first Series is broken down into six unique races:

Race 1: Rio de Janeiro

* TRACK: Full Circuit (5 Laps). 3.83 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 17,000 Cr. Purse.

Recommended Mod Cards

Each course can be made easier by using specific Mod Cards. If you do not presently own the version of a card we recommend, use the next version down that you do own. The recommended Cards for this track are:

(1) Braking Engineer +20% Braking -5% Weight (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Flat Out +3% Power -1% Weight (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green)

The Mod Card Strategy we are using here may seem too small to make that big a difference but in fact it is just the right setup for this course. Race after race has established that.

Back to Rio! Yes, it is a mixed surfaces hilly and challenging course with a cool tunnel to go through because, hey, everyone knows that fast cars go faster when there is a tunnel involved!

Race 2: Sonoma Raceway

* TRACK: Sonoma Full (7 Laps). 2.52 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

(1) Grip Engineer +12% Grip +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

Sonoma begs for precision control, and that means putting ALL of your emphasis on Brakes and Grip and eschewing Power because why? Because it is Brakes and Grip that give you the edge you need to dominate this course.

Another short-track fast run experience, Sonoma is actually a very challenging track for this class of racer. Fun too!

Completing this race unlocks the Showcase Event Trackday Shootout: Brands Hatch Track Toys Shootout.

Race 3: Bernese Alps

* TRACK: Alps Festival (7 Laps). 3.63 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 18,000 Cr. Purse.

Recommended Mod Cards

Each course can be made easier by using specific Mod Cards. If you do not presently own the version of a card we recommend, use the next version down that you do own. The recommended Cards for this track are:

2015 Lexus RC F
2015 Lexus RC F

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Increased Sway Bar Stiffness +3% Grip (Common) Boost/Green

Setting up your car for this race means adding power and grip - a fair amount of grip - thanks to the curves.

One of the more forgiving tracks - as we have previously mentioned - this may very well be the funnest of The Tracks so far for this car class!

Race 4: Lime Rock Park

* TRACK: Lime Rock Full Alt. (12 Laps). 1.50 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

(1) Grip Engineer +12% Grip +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

Speed is useless here - you want lots of Brakes and lots of Grip to gain the edge on this one.

Now if you were thinking that this is a short and fast course, well, there you would be right! 1.5 miles per lap, but hey, 12 laps so...

Race 5: Prague

* TRACK: Prague Full. (6 Laps). 3.51 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Flat Out +3% Power -1% Weight (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Enhanced Intake Flow +3% Power (Common) Boost/Green

This one is a bit unusual in that while it has a sufficient number of hard curves and turns, it also possesses a sufficient length of high-speed runs that pretty much make adding power for this one a must.

What can possibly be more fun than to rip through the streets of a very old city in Europe in a very fast open-wheeled car? Seriously!

Race 6: Long Beach

* TRACK: Long Beach Full. (8 Laps). 1.97 MI/L

* SERIES: World Championship Tour.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 16,000 Cr. Purse.

Recommended Mod Cards

Each course can be made easier by using specific Mod Cards. If you do not presently own the version of a card we recommend, use the next version down that you do own. The recommended Cards for this track are:

(1) Braking Engineer +20% Braking +6% Grip (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Rotor Heat Displacement +4% Braking (Common) Boost/Green

Here we have a track that has no benefit from adding power but that really highly benefits from better braking and the grip in that order.

Completing this race completes the Series and unlocks the next one!

Timeless Racing Series

Series 14 of 15 - 6 Races

Recommended Cars

Bear in mind that this is purely subjective and based upon a combination of our own and other racer experience. Clearly YMMV but the suggested cars below are competitive for this Series.

    - Endurance Prototypes

    - 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B

    - 2012 Audi #1 Audi Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro

    - Indy Car

    - 2015 Honda #27 Andretti Autosport IndyCar

    - 2015 Chevrolet #1 Team Penske IndyCar

    - Modern Grand Prix

    - 2015 Lotus E23

    - 2015 Lotus E23 (Seriously)

    - Can-Am

    - 1969 McLaren #4 McLaren Cars M8B

    - 1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163

    - 1970s Grand Prix

    - 1976 Ferrari #1 Scuderia Ferrari 312 T2

    - 1976 Lotus #5 Team Lotus 77

    - Legends of Grand Prix

    - 1967 Lotus Type 49

    - 1967 Brabham BT24

The second Series is broken down into six unique races:

Race 1: Nurburgring

* TRACK: Nordschleife (2 Laps). 12.93 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 21,000 Cr. Purse.

Recommended Mod Cards

Each course can be made easier by using specific Mod Cards. If you do not presently own the version of a card we recommend, use the next version down that you do own. The recommended Cards for this track are:

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Flat Out +3% Power -1% Weight (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Enhanced Intake Flow +3% Power (Common) Boost/Green

A long brutal track with a need for a balance of Power and Braking that leans towards Power. This is one of The Tracks where you really need to bring your A-Game and make as few mistakes as possible.

2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter
2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter

One of the older European courses in the circuit, there is a reason that this course is often called the Green Hell by the racers who challenge it.

Race 2: Autodromo Nazionale Monza

* TRACK: Monza Full Alt. (6 Laps). 3.59 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 15,000 Cr.

(3) Increased Sway Bar Stiffness +3% Grip (Common) Boost/Green

After considerable experimentation we found that this combination makes a very good and effective Strategy for this track.

Monza always offers a challenging race experience, and especially with this uber-fast class of car.

Race 3: Brands Hatch

* TRACK: Brands Hatch GP (8 Laps). 2.43 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

* DIVISION: Legends of Grand Prix

* REQ.: Finish in the Top 3 Positions. for a 14,000 Cr. Purse.

Recommended Mod Cards

Each course can be made easier by using specific Mod Cards. If you do not presently own the version of a card we recommend, use the next version down that you do own. The recommended Cards for this track are:

(1) Grip Engineer +12% Grip +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Elite Grid Position +4 Grid Position (Super Rare) Boost/Green (or best you have)

Due to the design of this track moving up your position in the grid will help a lot because its width and path promote a number of bunching spots where the pack gets tight. That is bad as it allows the leaders to gain significant distance. Hence the need to move up in the grid if possible.

One of the more challenging tracks for high-speed racing, Brands happens to be versatile, hosting the three most popular forms of racing.

Completing this race unlocks the Showcase Event Factory Spec Racing: Yas Marina Lotus E23 Cup.

Race 4: Watkins Glen

* TRACK: Watkins Glen Full (6 Laps). 3.37 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

(1) Braking Engineer +20% Braking +6% Grip (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Increased Sway Bar Stiffness +3% Grip (Common) Boost/Green

The reason you choose to increase Braking and Grip is due to the type of course, which has short runs and lots of turns that demand better grip and braking. Adding power in this situation would not help you.

Somehow it feels wrong to have favorites when it comes to tracks, because hey, we love all our tracks equally in an ideal world, but in terms of high-speed racing and this car class? Yeah.

Race 5: Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe

* TRACK: Le Mans La Sarthe (3 Laps). 8.48 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Flat Out +3% Power -1% Weight (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

Power and Brake are your go-to for this tack - but adding a little Grip and reducing the Weight a little will also be beneficial, so if you lack the exact cards we recommend, try a different combination that will give the same effects.

Another course that seems totally designed for this class of racing, the only real question is can you get Arbys there? Just kidding, of course you can't It's in France!

Race 6: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

* TRACK: Circuit de Spa (5 Laps). 4.35 MI/L

* SERIES: Timeless Racing Series.

(1) Grip Engineer +12% Grip +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163
1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163

For this course there is no question at all when it comes to Mod Card Strategy - you need lots of Brakes and lots of Grip. While there are in fact some speed zones here, the bottom line is that you are not very likely to work through your entire gear range on them, so put Speed out of your mind for this one.

And another track that is just made for this style and class of racing. Of course, it is in Belgium, so yeah, that happened. And it happened in the rain this time out which, well, open wheel, open cockpit? Cold, wet, and miserable - and mind the standing water.

Completing this race completes the Series and unlocks the next (and last) Series.

Ultimate Racing Championship

Series 15 of 15 - 6 Races

Recommended Cars

Bear in mind that this is purely subjective and based upon a combination of our own and other racer experience. Clearly YMMV but the suggested cars below are competitive for this Series.

    - Endurance Prototypes

    - 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B

    - 2012 Audi #1 Audi Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro

    - Indy Car

    - 2015 Honda #27 Andretti Autosport IndyCar

    - 2015 Chevrolet #1 Team Penske IndyCar

    - Modern Grand Prix

    - 2015 Lotus E23

    - 2015 Lotus E23 (Seriously)

    - Can-Am

    - 1969 McLaren #4 McLaren Cars M8B

    - 1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163

    - 1970s Grand Prix

    - 1976 Ferrari #1 Scuderia Ferrari 312 T2

    - 1976 Lotus #5 Team Lotus 77

    - Legends of Grand Prix

    - 1967 Lotus Type 49

    - 1967 Brabham BT24

In keeping with our established path we have stuck with the Legends of Grand Prix for our active Car Class, which if you look at the results of that selection choice basically brings us through the entire campaign using the same slot for a consistent 17% across the board.

In terms of game play completing the final Series does basically complete the single campaign playthrough, and will unlock the associated Achievements, but bear in mind that this is really only the beginning as the remainder of the campaign Achievements anticipate the player playing through the campaign another five unique times in order to complete it with all six sub-classes of cars.

We don't have to point out that this is a monumental task, but as we chose the most difficult cars for our first run through, you will be able to apply all of the Tips and Hints for track tune and Mods for all of the other classes regardless.

The third Series is broken down into six unique races:

Race 1: Yas Marina Circuit

* TRACK: Full Circuit (5 Laps). 3.45 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

The Marina offers an awkward collection of challenges that require a mixture of Power and Braking with a little Grip thrown in. If you lack the suggested Cards we suggest you get them, even if it means running Endurance races for the Creds!

The Marina offers a pretty challenging run for this class of car, and while it really does have the longest high-speed straight run of all The Tracks, its combination of turns and curves also happen to rate among the more technically challenging - particularly at these speeds - as well.

Race 2: Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona

* TRACK: Catalunya National (9 Laps). 1.85 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Grip Engineer +12% Grip +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Rotor Heat Displacement +4% Grip (Uncommon) Boost/Green

A short track with challenging geometry, this time we need to focus on Grip first, then Braking. Speed does not really play a role here.

1956 Lotus Eleven
1956 Lotus Eleven

One of the most raced GP Circuits in the world, Catalunya's relatively short but fast course offers up its own unique challenges for open-wheel racing.

Completing this race unlocks the Showcase Event Race Driver Experience: Modern GT Nordschleife Late Night Invitational - which is the last Showcase Event you need to unlock!

Race 3: Silverstone Racing Circuit

* TRACK: Silverstone GP (6 Laps). 3.19 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

This track is another instance where you need to have some added Power, but you also need to offset that by added Brake and Grip else it will get you into trouble.

Ordinarily we would say that Silverstone is a great challenging and fun course, but in the rain? It is insane!

Race 4: Hockenheimring

* TRACK: Hickenheimring (7 Laps). 2.84 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

For this course the emphasis must be on Speed and Grip. Braking is a bonus but if you lack cards containing both, you should focus on Grip.

The hits just keep on coming. Well, hits as long as a technical challenge is what qualifies as a hit for you... It does for us, just saying.

Race 5: Indianapolis Motor Speedway

* TRACK: Indianapolis GP Alt. (7 Laps). 2.59 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

For this course the emphasis must be on Speed and Grip. Braking is a bonus but if you lack cards containing both, you should focus on Grip...

The challenge increases as we head towards the end of the Series, the Volume, and the first campaign run!

Race 6: Circuit of the Americas

* TRACK: COTA GP (5 Laps). 3.42 MI/L

* SERIES: Ultimate Racing Championship Series.

(1) Powertrain Engineer +10% Power +12% Braking (Super Rare) Crew/Blue

(2) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

(3) Precision +3% Grip +4% Braking (Uncommon) Boost/Green

For this course the emphasis must be on Brakes and Grip with some Power thrown in to balance out the long stretches where that can be handy..

Completing this race unlocks the Achievements Volumes Closed (20g) Complete All Volumes, Championship Legend (30g) Complete all Series, and Just Getting Started (30g) Complete the final series in the final Volume.
