Chapter 11

Once inside Brainiac's mother ship, Supergirl can hear the cries of billions in agony, even finding a collection of civilians from her home, Argon City on Krypton. This distraction alone give Brainiac enough time to ensnare the two heroes: he drags Supergirl away with him, and sets Batman to be killed by his Beta Soldiers since he has no use for him. Out of nowhere, the once presumed dead Superman appears to save Batman from doom. It turns out he was never dead, instead merely hiding aboard the ship and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. The world's finest then team up to save Supergirl, defeat Brainiac and salvage what remains of the Earth.

As the two most iconic heroes of DC Comics go through the fleet, they are greeted by Firestorm and Swamp Thing. Unfortunately, Brainiac is controlling both of them, further manipulating them into fighting the heroes of his behalf. You will be given the choice to fight Firestorm with either hero, and then Swamp Thing immediately following (again with your choice of character). After defeating both of them, Batman will use the disruptor that Cyborg previously gave him to snap them out of Brainiac's control.

Once Brainiac's mind-slaves are restored to their normal selves, only the threat of Dr. Fate stands in the way of our heroes. Fate tries telling them the world is chaos and uncertainty because the war the two had waged on each other previously, and that Brainiac is here to bring order back once again. It is the helm that Fate is wearing that is disrupting his perspective, and defeating him in battle will allow Superman to destroy it and help Fate gain back the control of his mind.

After being saved, Dr. Fate remarks that it was a much better time for all back when Superman and Batman worked alongside one enough, together in their efforts to protect the world. That is when suddenly one of Brainiac's tendrils pierces and rips through Fate's chest. He parishes as Brainiac appears, the same who is ready to collect his second Kryptonian of the day. The combined efforts of both Batman and Superman end up prove not to be effective against Brainiac, and once Batman is knocked unconscious, Superman is forced to go for the victory all by himself.

Battle Against Brainiac

Brainiac is essentially the Mega Boss Character of Injustice 2, and thus is much more difficult to defeat than any other character you've had to fight. He can summon giant unblockable claws that will decrease your life total by one fifth within a moment's time, so if you see him standing there and waving his hand, you'll need to move quickly to dodge them.

Thankfully, Superman has an air dash to keep his mobility going, which should never give Brainiac the chance to do anything as his start-up times for all of his moves are longer for extra damage. (If you're having trouble doing this, consider the combo of Light, Light, Medium to get Brainiac in a corner. Keep up the pressure from there, and never give him the chance to get out.)

Defeating Brainiac will do of little good, as only his brain Controls the ship. Once you have him knocked out, Superman will be forced to using his own brain to stop the ship from crashing. And while he does this and tries to restore the cities Brainiac destroyed, Batman will be left to face Brainiac for the final fight.

Again, you must fight Brainiac at full health, who is as overpowered as the first time facing him with the Man of Steel. Unfortunately, Batman lacks Superman's air mobility, meaning it is much more difficult in dodging Brainiac's giant claws. Instead, you'll simply have to rely on keeping up constant pressure so Brainiac can't charge-up for his attacks. (A great combo for Batman is Medium, Medium, Heavy. Again, get Brainiac in a corner and keep up the pressure so he can't escape.) Defeat Brainiac with Batman, and he'll stay down for good this time.
