Chapter 2

In the present day, shortly after both Superman and Robin have been placed in jail for the actions they took, Bruce Wayne tries to make the public understand that there is no need to worry anymore, not now that everything is safe. Apart from Superman and the others being incarcerated, Bruce also has a supercomputer called Brother Eye to watch out for all the other tyrants that were never captured in the process.

Batman then suits up and has a few of his friends, Green Arrow and Black Canary, come to his newly built Batcave. However, Batman quickly tells them that he cannot leave the city without further causing angst to the people, so he, in turn, needs them to head to Slaughter Swamp on a mission. They are entrusted to stop a plan by Gorilla Grodd, who will also be accompanied by Scarecrow. The two are also greeted by Batman's latest partner (though an unpredictable one), Harley Quinn, while still at the Batcave. Allegedly, she has reformed her evil ways since the death of Joker and has since stayed at Batman's side. She is sent with Green Arrow and Black Canary to Slaughter Swamp.

Once the three heroes arrive at Slaughter Swamp, they sneak around in hopes of listening in on of the villainous plan of shipping fear gas from said swamp. However, as they eavesdrop, they suddenly are ensnared by vines. Poison Ivy soon appears, telling Quinn that despite the old times they use to have fighting alongside each other, she currently sides with Gorilla Grodd instead of Superman or Batman, leaving the two now as enemies. Quinn quickly escapes from the vines - along with Black Canary and Green Arrow - ultimately having to fight her previous ally.

Quinn's victory over her former friend allows her to move on to Scarecrow, who actually attempts to poison her with some of the fear toxins, but she laughs off his efforts. While the dose and new formula of the toxins changes Scarecrow's appearance drastically, it still isn't enough to stop Quinn. After defeating Scarecrow, he uses one last toxin that sends Quinn's mind back to a place she once lived and loved: The Joker's Playground. It is here in her mind where the Joker still lives, the same who tries to sway her back to his evil side and betray all the friendships she has built since his death.

His ambitions fails, however, and defeating him will take you back to the real world in Slaughter Swamp. Quickly, Swamp Thing will appear and declare that he does not want anyone harming his swamp, ultimately blaming Quinn and her band of heroes. Quinn is then forced to fight him to show that the heroes have no ill-willed intentions, and defeating him allows her to explain that Scarecrow was the one wanting to make toxins in the swamp. This is enough to temper Swamp Thing and for him to then pledge his helping interests to align with that of Quinn and the heroes; however, Scarecrow manages to get away in the process of all of this happening.
