MultiVersus Tips and Tricks
MultiVersus Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in MultiVersus.

Know your Character

The most important thing in MultiVersus is once you have found a character that suits your playstyle you make sure you understand its capabilities and use them to develop strategies for potential matchups. Each of the characters in MultiVersus has their own strengths, Superman for example is a tank that can take lots of hits while Bugs Bunny is a mage that excels in long-range attacks.

Don't Spam Cooldown Moves

Keep in mind that it is likely the special move of your character will have a cooldown which will prevent you from constantly spamming them during battle. Whether it's Batarangs, lassos, or something else, you will be forced to wait several seconds before you can use the special move again. It is therefore essential that you learn the best moments to deploy them during a fight, so you are able to take full advantage of them.

Avoid Attack Decay

You will find that some special attacks won't have cooldowns, this means you will be able to spam them as much as you want. The catch with these attacks though is that if you use the move too frequently, you will suffer attack decay that weakens its damage and knockback. The way to get around this is to mix up your attacks, doing this will not only enable you to preserve the power of your special attack, it will also make you more unpredictable.

Level Up Characters

Always look to level up characters as MultiVersus gives you the ability to equip Ally Perks for that character at level 6 and the option to Train Perks at level 9. Keep in mind all characters offer rewards up to level 15 so it makes sense to try and get them all your unlocked characters to that level.

Get Some Perks

Always look to unlock and equip special offensive and defensive perks whenever possible to buff your character, so they are more formidable in battle. These will include things like gaining an extra jump or getting a thicker skin. Keep in mind you can only have a limited number of perks so you need to choose the ones which when combined with your natural playstyle will best improve your character. To begin with you will only be able to gain basic perks but once you have reached level nine you will be able to buy perks directly and also enhance them for your character.

Play the Advanced Tutorials

It is recommended that once you have finished the basic tutorial you take the time to go through the advanced ones as these will teach you the fundamentals of systems like dodge jumps, wall slides, and directional influence. These tutorials don't take long to complete and will give you a brief look at some new mechanics MultiVersus brings to the platform fighting genre.

Save your Gold

Most of the content in MultiVersus is unlocked via Gold, you will earn a decent amount when you complete the introductory missions and early Chapter Mastery levels but once you have finished those they become harder to come by which means you need to save them for the purchases you really want. If you are unsure what character you want to spend your Gold unlocking you can try them out in the game's Training mode, The Lab, for free. This gives you the opportunity to try out a character's toolset before you spend Gold purchasing them.
