8. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Now, this is to say that there really need to be a third entry to BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic RPG series, not a sequel to the BioWare MMO The Old Republic.

With that out of the way, the Knights of the Old Republic games were immensely popular for their time. While BioWare is practically a (gamer's) household name with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, it's really their takes on the Star Wars franchise that put them on the map. There were plenty of Star Wars games that came before and after Knights of the Old Republic, but none really manage to capture the epic scale and narrative prowess that BioWare managed to pull with their contribution to the franchise lore.

Remember how excited fans got when The Old Republic was first announced, thinking it was a continuation of The Knights of the Old Republic, and how disappointed they were when it was an MMO? While The Old Republic is technically a part of the same general universe BioWare made, fans are undoubtedly waiting for Knights of the Old Republic III, with all the experience BioWare has gleaned from its own intellectual properties. Imagine the sheer scope a Star Wars RPG could have on a modern console or with modern PC specs in mind!
