Yoshi Actions

The Yoshi each can perform certain actions that you will use throughout the game.

Jumping - Yoshi can Jump by clicking the A Button.

Flutter Jump - Yoshi can Flutter Jump by Jumping and then clicking the A Button again in air. This will allow you to reach higher places.

Ground Pound - Yoshi can ground pound by jumping and then quickly pulling the control stick down. You can use ground pound to defeat enemies or to find hidden items.

Sniff - Yoshi can sniff by pressing the R Button. Yoshi can find hidden items by sniffing and following the "!" Icons. You would then ground pound when you find the location of the hidden item.

Swallowing - Yoshi can eat by clicking the B Button. You can eat many things, from fruit to shy guys. However, some things can be bad for Yoshi, such as Red Peppers.

Egg Throwing - Yoshi can throw eggs by holding and releasing any of the C Buttons. You can move the target with the control stick. Yoshi can throw eggs at enemies, fruit balloons, and mystery balloons.
